Only the best barrels are selected for the Sidewood Mappinga Chardonnay. This luscious and opulent wine displays great length and fruit flavour intensity of lemon and lime citrus, honeydew melons with hints of nutmeg spice. Long and delicious with a wonderful line of acid, balanced by an incredible softness. Drinking beautifully now but will continue to evolve for the next five years.
“The best parcels of fruit from the vineyard, whole-bunch pressed, the free-run juice wild-fermented and matured for 10 months in new and used French oak. Three gold medals at the Adelaide Wine Show, NZ and Spain in ’17 is an interesting trifecta. More important is the sheer quality, purity and length of a beautifully crafted (and grown) wine. It hasn’t put a foot wrong at any point along the way, instead conjuring up a combination of crisp acidity and softness.” 95 points, James Halliday
Owners and Vignerons, Owen and Cassandra Inglis founded Sidewood in 2004 borne of their uncompromising vision and passion for creating beautifully balanced, elegant, award-winning wines.
Despite Sidewood being a relatively new brand in the wine industry, it has already achieved Five Red Star Accreditation from James Halliday and in 2016 became the largest eco-sustainable winery in the Adelaide Hills.
