This is such a good drink, and versatile too. It can take a light chill, or you can take it more seriously. It’s spicy, meaty and quite purple, with blackberry, raspberry and blackcurrant, a succulence and juiciness, but layered with spice and a touch of bunchy greenery. Acidity is pure, fine and well-settled, and the tannin is firm enough to keep it straight, yet not lose its almost playful and supple edge. It’s a beautiful wine.
